Manchester is a city in the north west of the uk. It was granted city status in 1853 & now has an impressive population of 452,000. Manchester is the 3rd biggest conurbation in great britain & it’s also the 3rd most popular city that’s visited by foreign tourists.

Manchester first came to prominence during the Industrial Revolution, which is when it became the world leader in textile manufacture and production. the city is really proud of its industrial heritage & some of the cotton mills that were used during this time have been converted into offices and flats.

The city is also a centre of commerce, technology and science. It boasts 3 universities & is renowned as the home of the Baby computer, which changed the face of modern computing.

Although the city still has many gorgeous Victorian buildings for instance manchester town hall & Central Library, it also boasts many intricate buildings. plenty of these buildings were constructed after the city was attacked by a terrorist bomb in 1996.

Manchester has plenty of things to do, comprising of occasionally wonderful galleries and museums, which are really fun to explore.

These include the museum of science and industry, which tells the tale of Manchester’s rich industrial history. The museum hosts touring exhibitions too, and recently hosted the famous bodyworlds 4 exhibit. The city’s finest art art galleries include the whitworth art gallery, which boasts some lovely artwork.

Manchester also boasts some beautiful greenery, so you can enjoy a wholesome day out there.

Manchester is well known for its exciting shops, which cater to every taste. Indeed, you’ll find everything in the city, from high end designer shops including harvey nicholls to high-street retailers including new look & HMV.

If you prefer alternative shopping, you won’t be disappointed either. in fact, the city has some fantastic music shops, vintage stores & other kooky retailers located in the northern quarter.

Manchester has marvellous art gallery, which means that it’s a marvellous place to visit for an evening out. From marvellous restaurants to trendy bars and trendy nightclubs, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

You could start your evening with a pint of cider in one of the city’s unusual pubs. on the other hand, you could enjoy a glass of white wine or a tasty cocktail in one of Manchester’s more stylish bars. afterwards, you could go on to another cocktail bar or even to a club, where you’ll be able to dance the night away. needless to say Manchester has a wide variety of nightclubs, which means that you are certain to pinpoint one that plays the songs you like.
