Situated in the center of the state, Little Rock Arkansas is perched on the intersection of two major Interstates, I-30 and I-40 and has become a tourist destination in “The Natural State.” With a population that hovers around one hundred and eighty thousand people, Little Rock is home to several major corporations, including Alltel and Acxiom, as well as hosting the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. Little Rock cemented its place in history with two historic events. The first was the desegregation of Central High School when the Governor refused to integrate the school. The second was the nurturing of two term President William J. Clinton who lived in Arkansas during his terms as Governor. Each event has a museum dedicated to it. A converted gas station across the street from Central High is filled with memorabilia and records of the historic moment. The Clinton Presidential Library has been lauded as visionary. A looming glass and metal structure, it just out over the Arkansas River, with commanding views of the Little Rock skyline, and the meandering river as it stretches out into the distance. The museum is filled with interactive exhibits, timelines and histories of Clinton’s two terms in office. Outside, the grounds are filled with gardens and pathways. The Clinton Library is also a hallmark of environmentalism with energy saving features such as using natural lighting, and solar energy for heating in the winter. There is also a rain collection system on the roof that diverts water to storage tanks or ponds for use in irrigation on the grounds. Across the street from the Clinton Presidential Library is Heifer International, a charity organization that provides food and farm animals to developing countries. The grounds of Heifer International are unique in that they are separated into various zones dedicated to areas of the world where the charity operates. A visitor could walk the grounds and tour from a mock Sub-Saharan African village to a collection of Thai huts. Little Rock has a River Market district that hosts a large farmers market where local growers gather to sell fresh farm grown produce and wares. The River Market district is the hub of a revitalized downtown that includes a hopping nightlife and the introduction of urban lofts for real big city living in a small town setting. Arkansas is called the Natural State and Little Rock builds on that reputation with miles of trails, several dozen parks, and The Dam Bridge, a pedestrian and bicycle pathway that crosses over the Arkansas River at a dam, connecting the river trail in North Little Rock and Little Rock. West of the city is Pinnacle Mountain, a brisk one hour hike up a rock edifice that results in spectacular views of the countryside in the western part of town. There are several famous eateries in Little Rock, the most famous being Cotham’s and Doe’s. Doe’s is a local haunt of politicians and is great for start sighting while in town, and Cotham’s is home to the Hubcap burger, a platter of grilled goodness that would satisfy even the most hearty appetite. Little Rock is a great place to visit, full of friendly people and down home goodness the South is so famous for. Often there are those areas of your garden that just aren’t suitable for lawn or have exposed ledge and rocks making it impossible to plant shrubs. These areas can easily be transformed into beautiful rock gardens by rearranging of some of the stones and bringing in a bit of new soil. If you don’t have enough stones on site add a few new ones. You can also start a rock garden from scratch on slopes which are too steep to mow. Since most plants which thrive in rock garden settings are sun loving, try to pick the sunniest spot possible for your garden. If, however, your rocky slope happens to be in the shade there are a number of interesting ferns and woodland perennials which will do just fine.

If I had the power, I would change the title of the new Soundside CD from “Seconds to Sunrise” to “Working Man’s Soundside.” No, not as some type of homage to the Grateful Dead or their album of the same name, but because in today’s segmented music scene dominated by generic suburban pop, ring tone rap for real and fake ghettos, and indie rock for the college-educated hipster, there is a definite dearth of good honest rock and roll. The kind of rock that gets you through a day of loading boxes onto palettes or house painting. Rock for the unpretentious, for folks that work in delis or hang sheet rock. Soundside brings back the old school rock sound – hard but not metal, melodic but not Justin Timberlake, and with a touch of grunge, minus the tortured angst.

The rock and slag wool insulations are many a times referred to as man made vitreous fibers. These were developed in the mid-1800. The rock wool insulation is a kind of mineral wool insulation. Rock wool is part of the insulation class containing the rock wool, slag wood, and fiber glass. This class is generically known as the mineral wool insulators. The fibers of these insulators are not combustible. They have high melting temperatures which exceed the range 1800-2000 degrees Fahrenheit and hence are used to prevent fire also. The rocking chair reminds many people of a calmer time, and old-fashioned relaxation. Rockers have been around for a long time – no one knows how long, but they were mentioned in the Oxford English Dictionary in 1787. It’s probably that these classic pieces of furniture originated in America or in England as a kind of garden chair. The first models were undoubtedly homemade, since rocking chairs didn’t start being built by furniture companies until around 1800. Rockers are known from at least the 1740s in Sweden and England. Swedish rocking chairs had six legs with an extra long rocker and were usually black and gold. English versions looked like a standard chair, with rockers added onto the bottom. Now available in all styles, rocking chairs are still available all over the world, in a variety of materials.
